Capsule member Gustav Nipe and his friends recently managed to raise the equivalent of 11 million kronor for their food startup that scans food using hyperspectral cameras. We sat down in a coach for a live stream last week and you can watch the video here: https://www.facebook.com/johlun/videos/10156724928209392/
I'm really happy to inform you that Uppsala Linux User Group have joined the Uppsala Tech Slack. They regulary host nice mini-hackathons and you find them over at #ulug.
We now have 290+ members and every month more than 5000 messages are being sent. Me and Greg Gilbert are really happy about how appreciated the Slack has turned out to be.. :-) If you have a friend who wants to join, send me or firstname.lastname@example.org their email address and they'll get an invite.
Uppsala's yearly startup festival is taking place again in the castle on the 11th of November. A great way to get to know more tech people in the city. Highly recommended and the event is even free of charge: http://uppstart.com/
Uppsala Innovation Center is organizing a Startup Bootcamp to help future entrepreneurs kick-start their projects. This accelerator has a good international reputation and you read more about their bootcamp here (apply before the 16th of November):
As you might have noticed, Uppsala Tech Meetup has been idle for quite some time now. Having a newborn baby in the house and running a tech startup at the same time is not the most easy thing in the world. I am now looking for 2 persons to help me run this meetup. It practically means helping me come up with topics, schedule speakers and talk to the nice tech companies in town that hosts the meetups in their offices. A bonus is if you like Indie Gaming since that's a recurring meetup topic.
Last autumn Joel Kjellgren from Facebook visited the meetup and here's a video from his talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqSzUJO1XkE
